Nothing leaves the building uninsured, and nothing is left on a doorstep. Jewellery travels differently from ordinary parcels, and the arrangements below are the reason it arrives.
Within the UK
How it travels
Every order is insured in transit for its full value, and that cover is ours, not yours — if it does not arrive, that is our loss to carry and our problem to resolve.
A signature is always required. We would rather a piece went back to the depot than sat behind a bin.
- Cost
- Free on every UK order. It is not a line we would rather haggle over than get right.
- Carrier
- Secured, tracked and fully insured to the value of the piece. A signature is required on delivery and cannot be waived.
- Dispatch
- Same working day on anything in stock and ordered before 2pm. Pieces being sized, set or hallmarked go when the bench and the Assay Office are done.
- Arrival
- Next working day for stock pieces. You get the tracking the moment it leaves us.
- Packaging
- Unbranded on the outside. Nothing on the parcel says what is in it.
Above £15,000
Handed over, not posted
Above £15,000 a piece is not bought through a checkout, so it is not dispatched through one either. Those sales begin with a conversation, and how the piece reaches you is part of it.
In practice most people prefer to collect. It is the only way to see the piece and the paperwork together before anything changes hands.
- Collection
- In Hatton Garden, London, by appointment, with the piece checked over in front of you before you take it.
- Personal delivery
- Within London, by arrangement, at a time you choose.
- Further afield
- A specialist secure carrier, arranged case by case and discussed with you first.
- Identification
- Photo identification is needed on any high-value handover, whoever is collecting.
Outside the UK
International
We ship internationally, but not automatically. Ask before you order and we will confirm the route, the cover and what it will cost — email clients@yasmindiamonds.com or call +44 20 0000 0000.
- Where
- Case by case. Some destinations we will not insure to, and we would rather say so than take the order.
- Duties and taxes
- Import duty and local tax are the buyer's, and they are charged on arrival by the destination country, not by us.
- Hallmarking
- UK hallmarks are recognised under the International Convention in many countries but not all. We will tell you where yours stands.
